In the wake of Hurricane Beryl's destructive impact, particularly on islands such as Carriacou and Petite Martinique in Grenada, and Mayreau, Canouan, Union Island within St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association CHTA expresses heartfelt sympathy and exts its support to those affected.

Under the leadership of President Nicola Madden-Greig, CHTA stands firmly committed to assisting with relief efforts in collaboration with the National Hotel and Tourism Associations based in Grenada and St. Vincent.

We ext our solidarity to local communities impacted by this storm, declared President Madden-Greig, urging support for those still in danger's path, including the Dominican Republic, Hti, Jamca, and the Cayman Islands.

Acknowledging that the Caribbean is no stranger to crises, Madden-Greig emphasizes the resilience of its tourism sector. Noting that rports are reopened and businesses operational across eastern Caribbean regions, she highlights the importance of preparedness and swift recovery in times of adversity.

We are united in our commitment to protect lives and livelihoods, sd Madden-Greig, underscoring the region's tradition of strong public-private partnerships. With our communities' safety at heart, and economies robust, CHTA will stand by all affected areas, offering full support throughout recovery efforts.

As Grenada has been cleared for visitors, Madden-Greig urges travelers to understand that most destinations across the Caribbean remn open for business, welcoming guests despite localized challenges. She encourages support through travel visits as a means of contributing to relief efforts.

Traveling to the Caribbean not only supports our tourism industry but also accelerates recovery processes in impacted areas, she stated. We may have been tested in some parts, but we are resilient people who will bounce back stronger.
