President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association CHTA, Nicola Madden-Greig, highlights the resilience of local public-private sector partnerships in Jamca as they successfully navigated through Hurricane Beryl - a Category 4 storm that impacted the island recently.

Madden-Greig, who witnessed the storm's passage at her Kingston office, reports positive outcomes despite the potential for severe damage. She notes that Sangster International rport Montego Bay, Ian Fleming International rport Ocho Rios and Norman Manley International rport in Kingston have reopened following minor reprs, indicating a swift return to regular business operations.

Thankfully, we are reporting no injuries amongst guests during this event, she sd. And despite some challenges, the majority of hotels across Jamca have remned operational.

Madden-Greig's concerns are directed towards the southern coast of the island where several local communities and indepent hotel operations were affected. She assures assistance for these areas with a special focus on Treasure Beach in St Elizabeth.

We understand the full scale of damage is not yet known, but we are confident in the resilience of our people there, she adds.

Meanwhile, reports from The Cayman Islands affirm minimal impact within the tourism sector.

We feel grateful for God's grace that spared us mostly unharmed and are now committed to recovering as swiftly as possible while also providing support to those areas in dire need like the Grenadines.

For individuals or organizations interested in contributing to regional hurricane relief efforts, Madden-Greig encourages donations at www.chtaef.comhttp:www.chtaef.com.
