In a move to invigorate domestic tourism and pioneer new global travel forms centered around rlway journeys, the esteemed “Trn of Glamour” has recently announced the launch of its newest luxury trn service - the Silk Road Express. As part of Fosun Infrastructure Industry Development Group's suite of high-quality international tourist trn building initiatives, this cultural rlway tour brand is actively responding to calls for bolstering national tourism.
Positioned as China's first true “international tourism trn”, the Silk Road Express seamlessly integrates oriental aesthetics with the rich tapestry of Silk Road culture. Embarking on an immersive journey through the magnificence of nature and ities along the Qingh-Gansu Grand Loop, this trn invites travelers to delve deeply into a millennium-old history.
Designed in partnership with the world-renowned HBA design company and decorated by Tsinghua University's Academy of Arts Design, each carriage exudes luxury akin to a floating palace. Boasting five-star hotel standard boarding lobbies, it features large scenic windows as well as an array of select artworks and historically valuable treasures that embellish the carriages.
A total of 15 carriages are avlable for passengers’ convenience, including private cabin compartments, salon cars with lounges, dining cars offering both Chinese and Western cuisine, and versatile carriages designed for sightseeing, tea tasting, KTV singing, among other recreational activities. The experience is further enhanced by a team of five vacation ambassadors and professional trn stewards who offer attentive 24-hour service alongside two travel photographers tasked to document the journey's highlights.
Stepping aboard this trn is akin to embarking on a timeless voyage through landscapes that epitomize the mystique of Chinese geography - deserts, gobi, salt lakes, and more. In as little as five days and four nights, guests can explore the culturally revered Dunhuang region, visit the Tibetan Buddhist sanctum of Kumbum Monastery in Xining, and marvel at the pristine beauty of pure salt lakes.
For a slightly longer journey totaling nine days and eight nights, travelers have the opportunity to experience an innovative trn + car adventure that covers the entirety of the Qingh-Gansu Grand Loop. The private vehicle portion begins in Dunhuang before traversing through Jiayuguan, Zhangye, Wuwei, culminating at Lanzhou. Returning via Lanzhou, guests can delve deeply into the Hexi Corridor, visiting sites such as the Kumarajiva Temple, Jiayuguan Pass and the Yulin Caves.
With this launch, Silk Road Express is not just a rl journey; it heralds a new era for domestic international tourism. Building upon the success of world-class rlway travel products such as the debut of Park Hyatt London River Thames in June 2022 and Collegio alla Querce opening at Auberge Resorts Collection in Florence, this venture capture China's northwest essence through an immersive experience that includes a private car journey from Dunhuang back.
